Testimony

In past posts I've touched briefly on God's recent work in my life. On Sunday May 31, 2026 I was beginning to regain my strength after the hard physical battle I had just been through. I was trying to rest some but God had other plans for me. He was very persistently telling me it was time to share some of the work He was doing in my life. Being a fairly private person, I was stubbornly telling Him no and fighting with Him about the situation. After all who wants to share with the world their life story? It opens the door to disbelief and criticism. I've never taken criticism well, and spend most of my time worrying about what other people might think about me so giving into God and agreeing to share was extremely hard for me. When God wants something done, He won't let up on you until it's done so as exhausted as I was, I finally agreed to share. The following it is from a post I shared on Facebook.

"God has placed this in my heart to share today. I pray He places it in your heart to stop and take a few minutes to read ❤️

Up until about three weeks ago I knew God was knocking on my door and I'd stop from time to time and crack the door just to shut it again because of my own desires. Three weeks ago, He began knocking the door down. Slowly I began getting sicker and sicker until a week ago I could barely stay out of bed. I couldn't figure out the cause. Then about 5 days ago, I began literally having the life choked out of me. First attack was scary as hell. Airway totally blocked off, unable to swallow or get air in or out. Chest tightening and feeling like it was collapsing in and crushing the life right out of me. Then a quick release, long enough to beg Ed to take me to the hospital, then right back to no air. These attacks went on for about four days for two to four hours at a time. Ed dropped everything and took me to doctor after doctor, but no one could pinpoint a cause. By this time I couldn't eat, drink, or sleep and my entire body had no strength left in it. Along with the esophageal spasms came also "seizure like" full body muscle spasms and complete lack of any control over my body. By the fourth attack we were figuring out ways to get through them easier and trying desperately to find the source. Too tired to handle anymore, I finally told God and Ed, enough. What happens will happen and I'm okay either way. The final event was twenty four hours of total hell. The attacks came more frequently and in between I had no control over what my muscles chose to do. Ed sat and made me laugh while my body contorted and twisted. He kept me calm when my airway would close again and I wanted to panic. During the times of rest when all I could do was lay still and surrender, God began showing me everything. Very vivid life like moments of everything He needed me to know. It was a lot. With shaking, jerking hands I grabbed my phone and asked a friend to just pray for me. The attack let up enough for me to grab a few hours sleep and gain a clearer perspective. That day Ed and I began piecing it all together and found the culprit. Slowly, I am regaining strength and life back in my body. I have a lot I could say but I'm going to leave it to God right now. I have been humbled. Sometimes when we aren't listening, God will take drastic measures to bring His child back to him.

This morning I spent my few strong hours on the phone with a good friend. Not worried about what I needed to do, just being present in my time with her. Then I hugged the one man who has never let me down, told him how thankful I was to have him as my rock and how special my family is to me. I stepped outside, put my face in the sunshine, and appreciated the all so great huge deep breath I was able to take and thanked God for each second I have to see the people I love smile

May God bless you all❤️

To Ed and my family...thank you for loving me just because I exist. I am blessed beyond measure."

So that is the post I put up on Facebook. Since then, God has continued to work in my life. He has taken me down to rock bottom and I've lost a lot while trying to follow His will for me. It's not exactly time to share everything but for today I would like you all to understand what God has impressed upon my heart lately. God desires for us to drop everything and sometimes everyone and come to Him when He calls. He needs us to be okay with only Him in our lives. When Jesus called his disciples, he told them to stop what they were doing and follow him. That is what they immediately did. They didn't tell him, hold on let me finish what I'm doing, no they immediately did what he asked. It's the same between God and us. When God calls you, if you love and have faith in Him, you drop everything and follow Him. That is what I've been doing since my illness. I felt God calling unto me and I knew what I had to do. I had to drop everything and let His will be done in my life. God has continued to humble me every day through my real time life experiences that are still an ongoing process. As we speak, I'm in a newly rented room, some distance away from my children and grandchildren, relearning how to live life. Ed and I who actually divorced four years ago have given up the struggle of trying to make a thirty and some odd years relationship work and that is mainly my doing. I've lost everything of importance to me and found the rock at the bottom. . Today I saw a quote by someone who said it's better to not be in a neutral environment. That hit home for me. Like I said in my Facebook page, Ed has always been my rock and I was unfairly placing a lot of burden on Ed. God is supposed to be our rock, not another human being. Only God is strong enough and wise enough to fight for us every day.

I have so much more to say, but I'm going to leave that for later. Today I need you to ask yourself "just what are you willing to give up for God?" It could be your pride. It could be your job, or it could possibly be a bathroom stop. Either way and no matter what, you can always please God by being loving and putting God and Jesus before everything else. God loves you❤️

May the peace of the Lord surround you

And may you have a blessed and happy day.

                                                With love,

                                              Christie Clemens
