Verse of the week #3

Published on August 25, 2026 at 9:38 PM

I cried out and God answered. I was in need of help with the all to human emotions of anger and hatred. Then He sent me this...

"The Lord shall fight for you,

and ye shall hold your peace."

                                                Exodus 14:14

When I prayed for God to erase the anger and hatred, He answered by placing His words in my heart. He gently reminded me to let Him fight my battles while I remain silent and at peace. I like to remember two things. One,  when God fights for you, He can not be beaten.  Peace can fill our hearts and mind because we are in the hands of our Almighty Lord and things will work out for us as He sees fit and in His timing. Secondly I felt this verse telling me to remain silent, "hold my peace," and let God speak as well as fight for me.  In reality, with "holding your peace" comes God's peace and with God's peace you are more apt to "hold your peace."

Our God is pretty amazing and awesome! Whenever we ask, he hears us and answers. He loves us and will comfort and provide for us whenever we cry out for help. He desires us to need his help, just like parents desire their children to need and want  help. God doesn't just come to the Christians who "have it all together," He comes to the sinners as well. We often have hard times that leave us feeling completely overwhelmed. I can honestly say I have had a lot of tough storms recently. Just when I was beat down, bruised, and broken, the Son shown again. Did Jesus shun away the waywards? No, he welcomed them in by showing God's grace, peace, and love. I consider myself to be one of those waywards. I spent most my life running from God. Believing but not wanting to obey.  Jesus has been carrying me my entire life. I imagine one day God said, "enough, put her down. It's time she carry herself."   That day has changed my life forever and when we surrender and let God's will prevail in our lives, our load lightens just a sliver and we can feel God's amazing grace, peace, and Love.

                                          All praise, honor, and glory

                                                 to God our Father,

                                                                     Amen

                                                 Much love to you,

                                                           Christie,

                                                     God's Princess
